Eden Skin Clinic

Types of psoriasis we commonly treat

Recognising the specific pattern of psoriasis helps us choose the safest and most effective combinations of medicines, light‑based therapies, and skincare. Many patients have more than one type at the same time.

Most common

Chronic plaque psoriasis

Raised, red plaques with silvery‑white scales—often on elbows, knees, lower back, and scalp. We focus on calming inflammation, softening plaques, and protecting pigment in Indian and melanin‑rich skin.

Scalp

Scalp psoriasis & dandruff‑like flaking

Thick scaling along the hairline, behind the ears, or over the whole scalp. We design medicated shampoos, lotions, and in‑clinic treatments that soothe without damaging hair.

Drop‑like spots

Guttate psoriasis

Multiple small, red “drop‑like” spots on the body, often after throat infections. Early medical care helps prevent progression and clears flares more smoothly.

Skin folds

Inverse / flexural psoriasis

Smooth, red patches in armpits, groin, under the breasts, and other folds. These areas need very gentle, non‑irritating medication and careful moisture balance.

Hands & feet

Palmoplantar psoriasis

Thick, painful plaques and cracks on the palms and soles that can affect walking or work. We combine strong, targeted therapy with intensive barrier repair.

💅
Nails

Nail psoriasis

Pitting, discoloration, thickening, or lifting of the nails. Nail involvement often needs longer treatment and close follow‑up—but improvement is possible with the right plan.

Treatment roadmap

Your psoriasis journey at Eden

Psoriasis is usually a long‑term condition, but your discomfort and visibility of plaques do not have to be. We build a realistic roadmap so you know how we aim to calm flares, protect your skin, and reduce impact on daily life.

1
Consultation, diagnosis & trigger mapping
Week 0
We understand where your psoriasis shows up, how long it has been present, what worsens it, and what has been tried before.
  • Full skin, scalp, and nail examination; dermatoscope imaging when needed.
  • Review of past and current creams, tablets, and home remedies.
  • Discussion of triggers such as stress, infections, weather, or friction.
2
Calm the current flare & protect your barrier
Weeks 1–8
The first priority is to reduce itching, burning, and scaling while keeping your skin barrier healthy.
  • Prescription topicals (steroids, vitamin D analogues, etc.) tailored to area and severity.
  • Moisturiser and bath routine built for psoriasis‑prone, pigment‑rich skin.
  • Where appropriate, planning for phototherapy or systemic / biologic options with your dermatologist and physician.
3
Reduce thickness, redness & visibility
Months 2–6
Once flares are better controlled, we aim to thin plaques, even out colour, and minimise long‑term texture changes.
  • Careful tapering of strong medicines to safer, maintenance routines.
  • Light‑based therapies and clinic treatments when indicated and safe for your skin tone.
  • Support for scalp and nail recovery, where improvements can take longer.
4
Long‑term maintenance & flare planning
Ongoing
Because psoriasis can come and go, we help you recognise early warning signs and adjust your routine quickly.
  • Simple, sustainable skincare you can follow through seasons and travel.
  • Clear written plan for what to do if a flare starts.
  • Periodic reviews to adapt treatment as your life, stress levels, or health change.

Real patients, real journeys

Living with psoriasis, with more comfort and control

Most patients do not expect psoriasis to disappear overnight—but they do hope to feel less embarrassed, less itchy, and more in control. These stories reflect what treatment can feel like over time.

R
Riya, 28
“I had been hiding my arms in long sleeves for years. At Eden we slowly adjusted my medicines instead of just giving stronger creams. The plaques are much flatter now and the redness has reduced, so I feel comfortable in short sleeves again.”
M
Mahesh, 35
“Flakes on my shoulders made me very self‑conscious at work. The team explained exactly how to use my shampoos and lotions and what to avoid. Within a few weeks my itching reduced a lot and the scaling is much easier to manage.”
S
Sarita, 42
“Standing in the kitchen all day with cracked heels was painful. Eden created a routine I could actually follow, and we slowly added stronger options when needed. My feet and nails are not ‘perfect’, but they hurt much less and look far better than before.”
Individual results vary and depend on your psoriasis type, severity, medical history, and adherence to the plan.
Questions about psoriasis treatment

Psoriasis treatment FAQs

Unsure whether you need tablets, injections, or just a better routine? These answers give you a starting point—your dermatologist will personalise the details after examining your skin and medical history.

Can psoriasis be completely cured?

+

Psoriasis is usually a chronic tendency driven by the immune system and genetics, so we do not promise a permanent “cure”. Our goal is long‑term control—fewer flares, milder plaques, less itching, and minimal impact on your daily life. Many patients experience long periods of remission when their plan is followed consistently.

Do I have to take strong steroid creams forever?

+

No. Strong topical steroids are usually used in short, carefully supervised phases. We teach you how to use them safely and taper them as plaques improve, often shifting to gentler maintenance medicines and moisturisers. Used correctly under dermatology care, they are an important and safe tool.

When are tablets or biologic injections needed for psoriasis?

+

For mild, localised psoriasis, topical treatment may be enough. When large body areas are involved, joints hurt, or quality of life is significantly affected, your dermatologist may recommend systemic tablets or biologic injections. These decisions are always made after detailed counselling, blood tests, and coordination with other doctors if required.

Is psoriasis treatment safe for Indian and darker skin tones?

+

Yes—when plans are tailored properly. At Eden we pay close attention to pigment safety, choosing medicines, strengths, and any light‑based therapies that are appropriate for melanin‑rich skin. We avoid overly aggressive peels or devices that can increase risk of darkening or scarring.

What can I do at home to reduce flares?

+

Gentle daily moisturising, avoiding harsh scrubs, managing stress where possible, and not smoking can all help reduce flares. For many people, infections, friction, and certain medicines can trigger psoriasis—your dermatologist will help you identify patterns and give a written plan for home care alongside medical treatment.
